Volunteer Sign-In QR Kiosk
Replace the event clipboard with a tablet kiosk and a QR poster, running on your own laptop.
What it does
- Organizer page (PIN-protected): create an event with its name, color, “ways to help” list and consent line.
- Tablet kiosk: a big, simple sign-in form that thanks each person and resets for the next.
- Print a QR poster so people can sign in on their own phones.
- Returning emails are recognized (“Welcome back”) instead of being counted twice.
- Download the sign-ins as a CSV file.
Where it runs and what stays private
Runs on the organizer's laptop. The tablet and phones join the same Wi-Fi (a phone hotspot works). No internet, no cloud and no accounts: sign-ins stay on the laptop.
Security built in: hashed organizer PIN, strict same-site session cookie, cross-site posts blocked, consent required, a guard against spreadsheet formula injection in the CSV, and a per-device rate limit.
Good to know
- The contact data belongs to the organizer, who needs their own privacy notice. The consent line can be edited for each event.
- The tablet and phones must be on the same network as the laptop.
